Stories of Travel by Stagecoach & Horse

Join the Woodbridge Public Library July 27 at 7PM for a program presented by the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts. We will look at the various aspects related to horse-powered travel, including primary source document accounts of what it was like to travel by stagecoach. It will also explore the wide range of horse-powered vehicles that were on the road in the 19th century and what it meant to have a horse as your “engine.”

Henry Inman Mystery/Thriller Book Club

Registration is required. Join us virtually for a discussion of The Second Mother by Jenny Milchman. Copies of the book are available at select branches and through the MURAL library system. Some copies are available in large print too for those who prefer it.  This event is free and open to all.

On the day before the program you will be send the Zoom meeting information by email. Please note that if you are using Zoom on a tablet or smartphone you will need to download the Zoom app.

Henry Inman Grab and Go DIY Llama Craft

Come to the Henry Inman Branch to get your own Grab and Go DIY Llama craft kit.  In the kit, you'll receive all of the supplies needed to decorate your own Llama craft.

The grab and go craft is available to Adults and Teens (13+) patrons from all branches of the Woodbridge Public Library.  However, you must pick up the craft kit at the Henry Inman Branch and registration is required.

The Seafaring Cats of Gotham

Join the Woodbridge Public Library virtually as author and historian Peggy Gavan July 14 at 7PM as she takes you back in time to discover New York’s maritime history while sharing some amazing stories of famous (and not-so-famous) seafaring cats of Old New York.
 
Explore the history of Chelsea Piers, Brooklyn Navy Yard, New York Docks, and more while meeting some memorable nautical felines and the sailors, dock workers, and ship captains who came to their rescue—and then came to love them.

Backyard Birding in the Garden State

Join nature writer and photographer Jim Wright for a virtual talk and slide show called “The Birds in Our Backyards," brought to you by the Woodbridge Public Library July 7 at 7PM. Jim will talk about his favorite avian neighbors -- including the birds of summer, as well as year-round residents -- and how to attract them. He’ll also offer some bird-feeding dos and don’ts, and explain why.

Iselin - Adult Grab & Go - Rock Photo / Memo Holder

June 28 - July 2, 2021

Iselin Branch Library

All adults are welcome to stop by the Iselin Branch to pick up a containing supplies to make a easy, fun photo / memo holder.  We will supply the beads, wire, and rock - you supply the creativity! 
 
This craft is open to all patrons ages 18+ from all branches of the Woodbridge Public Library system. 
 
Registration for this event is required and kits must be picked up at our Iselin Branch Library.  Please register here. 
 
You will have until Friday, July 2 to pick up your kits.  If you cannot pick up the kit please let us know by July 6, 2021.   If you do not contact the branch by then, we will give your craft kit to the next patron on the wait list. 

United States War Dog Association

Join President of the United States War Dog Association, Chris Willingham, virtually June 30 at 7PM for a presentation brought to you by the Woodbridge Public Library which will discuss the history of war dogs and the service they've provided to our military over the years, as well as the various programs there are to support military working dogs. We will also focus on Willingham's experience as a military working dog handler overseas.
