WOODBRIDGE: THE BEST TOWN AROUND:
Woodbridge Township - the oldest Township in the State of New Jersey - was chartered on June 1, 1669.  Over its 350 years, Woodbridge Township has had many historic New Jersey firsts –  from the first drinking of British tea in the “Colonies” to the site of the first permanent printing press operated by James Parker in 1751.  During the Nineteenth century, clay mining and brick manufacturing became the major industry of the Township.  The Township Seal - adopted on November 11, 1885 by the Town Committee - depicts the prominence of the clay and brink industry.  Standing at the “Crossroads of New Jersey,” Woodbridge prospered over the years achieving the designation as an “All American City” home to international corporations, commercial manufacturing and development and a thriving “Buy Local” economy. Today, ten separate and distinctive communities make up the fabric and fiber of our Township – Avenel, Colonia, Fords, Hopelawn, Iselin, Keasbey, Menlo Park Terrace, Port Reading, Sewaren, and Woodbridge Proper – where we’re proud of our “Quality-of-Life” which is why we are “The Best Town Around.”

Woodbridge Community Players Announce Auditions for Little House of Horrors
Sat., May 19 & Mon., May 21 @ The Theatre at Woodbridge Middle School

LSOP Auditions

The Woodbridge Community Players (WCP) – our very own summer stock theatre group of local actors and actresses – are looking for talent!!!  Ensemble auditions for the cast of “Little House of Horrors” are scheduled for Sat., May 19 at 9:00 AM and Mon., May 21 at 7:00 PM at the Theatre at Woodbridge Middle School. Stay tuned to the WB News or the WCP Facebook at:  www.facebook.com/wcyp.inc or  www.WoodbridgeCommunityPlayers.org for information on performance dates and tickets.

WCP Needs Patrons:  The work of the WCP does not end with the final curtain call for “Little House of Horrors” in July!!!  What many theatre-goers may not realize is how costly a stage production can be - just the rights to a play or Broadway musical show can run more than $5,000.00 - add to that costs for lighting, sound, scenery, costumes and props and you’ll understand why the WCP needs your help to produce shows the entire community can be proud of.  That’s why we’re asking Township residents to support the Woodbridge Community Players by signing on as a Patron.  To support the WCP and to learn how you can be a “Patron of the WCP” go to: www.WoodbridgeCommunityPlayers.org.
