The Avenel Performing Arts Center (APAC) - the region’s newest performing arts center designed for theatre, stage productions and special performances – is welcoming theatre-goers with the very best entertainment venue in Central Jersey.  The APAC is a multi-disciplinary performing arts center located in Avenel (Woodbridge Township). Managed by the Woodbridge Arts Alliance (WAA), the APAC promises to energize Avenel and surrounding communities by programming exceptional, professional theatre, music, comedy, dance and more.  The APAC features seating for 200 patrons, a separate performance room and pre-function lobby area that opens to exterior space for larger gatherings and events.  APAC also features Curtains Restaurant – a stand-alone dining destination available for catered pre-performance and special events.

National Public Lands Day is Sept. 28… Volunteer to Clean-Up Woodbridge

Join the Woodbridge Green Team as we celebrate National Public Lands Day on Saturday (Sept. 28).  National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort geared to clean-up and restore the natural beauty of public lands, parks, playgrounds and recreational areas.  Want to Help!!! And that’s not all!!!  National Public Lands Day also serves as the kick-off for the annual “Ernie Oros Woodbridge River Celebration” ~ the FREE festival and celebration gets underway at 11:00 AM at the Ernie Oros Wildlife Preserve in Avenel.  Walking tour of the Butterfly Park at Pin Oak Forest.  Food & Beverages.  Live Music.  The Ernie Oros Wildlife Preserve is located off Omar Ave. between Rahway Ave. and Blair Road in Avenel.

CALLING ALL BICYCLISTS... The 12th Annual Tour de’ Woodbridge bike tour rolls through town on Sun., Sept. 29.  The recreational tour of Woodbridge - 30 or 15 mile tour - starts and finishes at The Woodbridge Community Center (WCC), 600 Main Street.  Registration: $25.00 (Advance).  $30.00 (Tour Day).   To Register:  https://raceroster.com/2019/25058/12th-NNUl-tour-de-woodbridge.  Registration Opens at 7:00 AM.  Tour starts at 8:00 AM.  Still time to register.


Hispanic Heritage Festival Set For Oct. 5

The Hispanic Heritage Festival is set for Sun., Oct. 5, 2019 from Noon to 4:00 PM at Parker Press Park in downtown Woodbridge.  Meet friends and neighbors in a fun-filled and educational festival that celebrates the contributions of the Woodbridge Township Hispanic & Latino community!!!  Music…  Dancers… Food… Fun… and so much more!!!  (FREE Parking in the NJT lot.)


Women’s Health & Fitness Day Set For Thurs., Oct. 3

The Woodbridge Township Department of Health & Human Services and the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign is sponsoring Women’s Health & Fitness Day on Thurs., Oct. 3 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Woodbridge Health Center, 2 George Frederick Plaza (adjacent to the Woodbridge Main Library).  Learn the facts specific to women’s health from the Health Department’s wellness experts and professional staff.  Participate in FREE health and wellness screenings and events.  Explore Mind, Body & Wellness.  Fitness Demonstrations.  Personal Safety & Healthy Nutrition Advice.  Light Brunch Provided.  Call the Health Department for all the details:  732-855-0600 x5024.


Barron Arts Center Presents:  The Barron Family of Woodbridge: An Exhibit

The Barron Art Center Presents: “Settling in Woodbridge: A History of the Barron Family.”  The exhibit, drawn from the family archives of the descendants of the Barron Family of Woodbridge, features a chronology of the Barron family journey from Ireland to Massachusetts to New Jersey and beyond. Of special note will be artifacts from the life of Barron Library benefactor Thomas Barron, the Civil War diary of Dr. John Connor Barron, and a variety of correspondence, artifacts and photographs from Maria Louisa Barron Fredrick’s, wife of the noted 19th century New York photographer Charles DeForest Fredricks.   The Barron Family Exhibit is On View: Oct. 5 – 27, 2019.  Opening Reception:  Oct. 5, 2019. 2:00 to 4:00 PM.  Free Admission.  No Reservations needed.  For more information: (732) 634-0413.

The BarronFest Arts & Crafts Festival returns to Parker Press Park on Sat., Oct. 12, 2019.  BarronFest - sponsored by the Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission and the Barron Arts Center - features over 50 local artisans & crafters.  Stroll the BarronFest booths and craft areas from Noon to 4:30 PM.  Food and other refreshments are available for purchase as a fundraiser for the Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission.

The Club at Woodbridge is now part of the Woodbridge Township Recreation Family – and we’re offering an incredible menu of health, wellness, fitness and entertainment programs, events and happenings to members and guests!!!  The Club is the perfect complement to the Woodbridge Community Center (WCC) right across Main Street.  Both facilities have a pool, running track, cardio rooms, weight rooms, concession areas and child care functions. Both run summer camps for kids and personal training and other amenities.
