Mayor John E. McCormac Welcomes Fords Seniors to All-New Hickory Center

Mayor John E. McCormac hosted the Fords Women’s Club and the Fords Senior Club, along with more than 100 Woodbridge Township Senior residents, to celebrate the Grand Opening of the all-new Hickory Senior Center. The Hickory Senior Center, located in the former Fords First Aid Squad building, stands as a gateway connecting the Township’s Senior residents 60 years-of-age and older by providing vital community services that help Seniors remain healthy, active and independent. The Hickory Senior Center, located at 17 Corrielle Street, features a large community room, activity rooms, game room, computer learning center with FREE wifi, and the Fords Corner Café. Senior residents are encouraged to register as a member of the Hickory Senior Center – Registration is FREE. The Hickory Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM. The Avenel Performing Arts Center (APAC) - the region’s newest performing arts center offering top-name theatre, stage productions and special performances – is welcoming theatre-goers with the very best entertainment venue in Central Jersey. The APAC is a multi-disciplinary performing arts center located in Avenel (Woodbridge Township). Managed by the Woodbridge Arts Alliance (WAA), the APAC promises to energize Avenel and surrounding communities by programming exceptional, professional theatre, music, comedy, dance and more. The APAC features seating for 200 patrons, a separate performance room and pre-function lobby area that opens to exterior space for larger gatherings and events. APAC also features Curtains Restaurant – a stand-alone dining destination available for catered pre-performance and special events.

Election Day is Tues., Nov. 5... Cast-A-Can-When-You-Cast-Your-Vote

The Municipal Clerk’s Office is open and at work on General Election Day – Tues., Nov. 5, 2019. Voters are reminded to bring their Sample Ballot with them to the polls – the Sample Ballot includes information on where you go to vote and a complete list of candidates seeking election to all offices – national, state, county, municipal and school board. Voters can verify registration by contacting the Middlesex County Board of Elections at 732-745-3471. Polls are open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Go to the Woodbridge Township web page at: www.twp.woodbridge.nj.us (Departments/Clerk’s Office) for voting information. And, speaking of voting... students from Woodbridge and Colonia High Schools are again coordinating the Township-wide ‘Cast-A-Can-When-You-Cast-Your-Vote’ food drive. So, before you leave home to vote on Tues., Nov. 5, grab a can… or two… or three… for drop-off at your polling location. Donating non-perishable food is a great way to help our less fortunate friends and neighbors as we approach the upcoming holiday season. Vote... And donate a can of food!!!

The 13th Annual Woodbridge Township Veteran’s Day Parade marches down Main Street to Town Hall on Sun., Nov. 10, 2019 at 1:30 PM. Welcome and salute Township Veterans and active-duty military personnel from all branches of service as they proudly march in celebration of Veterans Day. Woodbridge Restaurant Week features 26 Township eateries offering a variety of menu options. Pick up your Restaurant Week dining card and each time you visit a participating eatery, get your dining card stamp - when you collect 10 stamps drop-off the card at the Chamber office located at 91 Main Street (inside Floral Expressions) for entry into a drawing for a $25 gift card to one of the participating eateries. The drawing will take place on December 9, 2019.
