Gail will take us on a journey through the rich history of quilting, starting from its early beginnings in the 1830s all the way up to the present day. We'll explore major events in history such as the American Civil War, the Great Depression, and World War II, and how they influenced the evolution of quilting. Gail will even bring some of her own beautiful quilts for us to admire and appreciate. 

But that's not all! During the presentation, we'll also learn about the migration westward in the mid-19th century, the Singer Sewing Machine's role in revolutionizing quilting, and even the history of handwork that women enjoyed throughout the years. We'll also discover how quilt blocks helped slaves escape through the Underground Railroad.
