Mediation In Our Community

Alternative Option Through Mediation

Woodbridge Township participates in the Middlesex County Mediation Program (PDF). This program is an alternative course to handle cases like neighbor disputes, noise issues, and other cases that are not so much of a criminal nature. You may come to the main court window and ask to fill out a pre-complaint form. As with formal criminal charges you will need to know the person's name and address. A one hour mediation hearing will be scheduled with a State Certified Mediator.

This 1 hour session is held in the third floor conference room at the Municipal Complex:
1 Main Street
Woodbridge, NJ 07095

The session hours are scheduled for a Wednesday or Thursday evening at 7 or 8 p.m. This program has a very high success rate and is available in most Municipalities at this time.

If formal criminal charges have been filed, the Judge may refer the matter to mediation at the scheduled court date.

Required By Summoning

If you are summoned to mediation you must appear. If you enter into an agreement, this agreement is considered a legal document and must be upheld.
