Computer Classes
Want to improve your computer skills? Learn how to use a computer or any of several popular software and web services in one of our in-person computer classes. Register online, or by calling us at 732-634-4450, ext. 7120. Classes run from 1 hour to 1 ½ hours in length. Registration must be completed by 3 days prior to the class.
In-Person Class Catalog
Classes are individual sessions only. Unless otherwise noted, they do not require completion of previous courses.
- Introduction to Computers
Join us as we discuss the basic operations of a computer, navigating the desktop, and using a mouse. We also learn to open and save a file. No previous computer experience is necessary. - Introduction to Computers Practice Session
Practice using a mouse and keyboard! This is a beginner class and is recommended for patrons who have little to no computer experience. - Canva
Canva is an online design platform that allows users to create visual content. It offers tools for creating custom presentations, social media graphics, posters, documents, cards, calendars and more! Having access to an email account is required for this class. - Drop-In: Computer Help
Ask any questions you have with your devices. This includes: logging into your library account, accessing the WPL digital library, digital databases, any other questions you may have. Please bring your personal device that you need help with. No registration required. - Drop-In: Digital Library Help
Get help navigating our digital services, including Libby and Hoopla on your personal devices. No registration required. - Email 101
In collaboration with Labor & Literacy Library through the New Jersey State Library, this class will explain how to get started with an email and how to to create, or better utilize, a gmail (google email) account. This class will go through the process of account creation and show you the different categories within your inbox, creating a signature, creating folders and more! - Linkedin Learning
Learn how to navigate LinkedIn Learning! Courses on LinkedIn Learning include Leadership, Project Management, Mental Wellness, Job Hunting, Digital Marketing, Data Science, 3D Animation, and CAD. Please bring your WPL Library Card or stop at the circulation desk before class to get a library card. - Library apps & more
This class is to better understand apps like Libby & Hoopla. We will also go over navigating the WPL website, practice searching the catalog and how to access your library account. - Microsoft Excel
Learn the basics of MS Excel. You will learn frequently used MS Excel commands in this class. We will create, and edit blank documents and templates. Some computer experience and the ability to use a mouse is necessary. - Microsoft Word
Learn the basics of MS Word. You will learn frequently used MS Word commands in this class. We will create, and edit blank documents and templates. Some computer experience and the ability to use a mouse is necessary.
